Maritess's story

Maritess is a resident of San Dionisio, Iloilo. She is married with three children. To earn an income, she runs a sari-sari (variety) store, selling basic commodities. She has been in this business for many years. Meanwhile, her husband works as an electrician to support the family.

Now she asks for a loan of PHP 28,000 through Kiva’s field partner CEV, (A Microfinance NGO) in the Philippines which she will use to buy assorted grocery items like toiletries, snack foods, canned goods, noodles, eggs, spices and drinks.

Maritess aspires to augment their livelihood in the future for her children's education.
