A loan helped us provide advances to Honduran coffee farmers so we can help them connect to specialty buyers.

Sean's story

I worked as an aerospace engineer for several years before my wife and I moved to Honduras in 2013 to partner with a local church and set up a non-profit to support impoverished kids' education. Empowering Education International now supports over 370 children in Honduras and 40 in Uganda. We lived in Honduras until the end of 2019 and transitioned to living in Chicago during a strange 2020. We now have three kids and continue to travel to Honduras.

While in Honduras, I started to get to know many coffee farmers and I saw the massive opportunity that existed to impact so many lives. So many coffee farmers were being paid extremely low prices but had no way to connect to buyers. I have seen such extreme poverty in Honduras and I am passionate about helping to provide manners for people to create prosperity for their families.
