A loan helped bFAZ invest in costumes and cost of our first Showcase.

Alexa's story

I have over 20 years of experience in the dance industry and was donating my time as the Mexican folklore dance team for a club at the University of Arizona for five years after covid-19 hit I decided to open my own studio to help youth and adults find community thru ethnic dance. On the first day, I only had 5 small dancers that were from just over a year ago. Today I have over 70 dancers and in one year we have won 2 competitions one in Texas and one in California, as well as over 15 local performances recently, came back from Bogota Colombia where we represented the USA and Mexico in an international dance festival.

I decided to open a Folklorico store inside the studio because the material I needed was very difficult to find. The store is slowly growing as is the business. We are preparing for our first showcase in December and this loan will mean a great deal for all my dancers, especially the children.

This loan is special because:

It helps a repeat Kiva borrower take their business to the next level.
