A loan helped to purchase and insure a dairy cow, and expand her poultry farm.

Azinafa's story

Azinafa has been practicing mixed farming for the last eighteen years in Kitale town, western Kenya. Her mixed farm produces milk, maize, beans and vegetables which are all sold locally. She also earns income from her business of selling fish to the local market.

She is 50 years old and married with 6 children who are all adults. Her youngest child is currently attending school.

She recently repaid her fifth loan from Juhudi Kilimo and has requested this loan of 50,800 KES to purchase and insure a dairy cow and expand her poultry farm. By adding another dairy cow and expanding her poultry farm, she hopes it will increase her income which in turn will enable her pay college fees for her children.

Her biggest challenges have been fluctuation in the market prices of products and the high cost of poultry feeds. She hopes to set up a zero grazing unit in the future so that her animals can be well catered for. She also hopes to acquire a high-breed dairy cow in the future.

She comments that Juhudi loans have benefited her very much. She also gives a thumb up for the current efficiency in terms of loan processing.
