A loan helped to buy pandanus and mulberry for her weaving and tapa-making business.

Mele's story

Mele is a 36-year-old mother of three children. She is married to a farmer, and they live in their own home.

She currently runs a weaving and tapa-making business, where she joins a group of women in the village, and together, they make tapas once a week.

She also weaves on her own and also pays women to weave for her. When her products are ready, she sells them to her overseas relatives. She also has trusted customers with whom they work together.

Her business contributes to the lives of her family and provided enough money to rebuild their house. Her next plan is to earn enough money to buy a new delivery vehicle for her business. With this loan, Mele can buy pandanus and mulberry for her two businesses.
