Patience's story

Chef Patty is what I’m affectionately called, and I have always loved the culinary arts, a talent she inherited from my grandmother. The latter owned one of the most successful Bukas (take-out restaurants) in Lagos, Nigeria. While I initially went to college for health science Chef Patty as she is affectionately called, has always loved the culinary arts, a talent she inherited from her grandmother. The latter owned one of the most successful Bukas (take-out restaurants) in Lagos, Nigeria. While Chef Patty initially went to college for the health sciences, I quickly decided that I had to pursue what I was naturally gifted at. Armed with determination and passion, I started Lasgidi Cafe, a Nigerian pop-up kitchen in Phoenix, AZ. We offer a wide range of services, from private event catering, food vending, private chef experiences, in-person and virtual cooking classes, and a unique dining experience titled “Owambe.” Always excited about the goodness of food, both in nutrition and taste, I volunteer my time at Desert Mission and within my sorority-based organization.
