A loan helped a woman owned business, remodel create a safe space and purchase equipment, supplies to offer more services.

Lan's story

Born and raised in Vietnam, I came here at 14 years old with a desire to aim for success. I have owned the same business in the exact location for 18 years and have become a great asset to my community. I truly believe when you look good, you feel better.
I worked hard, and I always dreamed of owning a hair salon. I worked for a big salon for two years, then later decided to open my own, and now I own Lans hair salon in Tacoma, WA. I have been cutting hair since 2003. All we do is just haircuts and colors.
As a single mother of two, I want my kids to know that hard work makes dreams come true.
However, when Covid-19 hit, the building owner wanted the building back to rent to open a different shop, so I had to move to a new location; that transition has been challenging, and we are just hoping to get back on our feet.
