A loan helped a minority woman disabled business to get into the construction industry with a unique product.

Jessica's story

I started Quiick Briick as a business launched in the lower Hudson Valley, NY. I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Lehman College, Bronx, NY. My overarching concern is to ensure that we have a habitable planet for future generations and to include more recycled materials in the construction industry.

I want to focus on realistic solutions like reducing plastic pollution, poverty, and homelessness and creating stable family environments. I believe that reducing pollution is everyone’s responsibility. After studying solutions worldwide, I made Quick Brick transform plastic into safe, affordable, and comfortable housing.

I am a parent of a child with special needs and wish to leave a better world for those who have yet to make choices for themselves. When I look at my child, I become concerned about the environment's future and those with no say about current business practices. I have always believed that any business model should be sustainable, give back to the community, and generate jobs. I feel that deep down, everyone wants to make a positive contribution to society, and I think this is my way (via the entrepreneurial spirit) to give back and support my family.
