A loan helped to buy fabrics.

Vivian's story

Vivian is a refugee mother to 5 children who are schoolgoing and live with her in Yumbe which is in the West Nile region of Uganda.

She is very hardworking and does not look at her past and what has happened, but looks at the future with a smile, since she is still alive.

She grows millet, sorghum, cassava and beans. Besides this, her main activity is sewing and selling clothes. The demand for her services has really increased.

She would like to buy fabrics as well as bales of used clothes. She wants to make school uniforms and different kinds of clothes.

With this in place, she will be able to boost her income, pay school fees and offer her family a better life. Without the support of VisionFund and Kiva, she would not have been able to achieve all this. She is forever grateful.

This loan is special because:

It helps refugees in Uganda rebuild and sustain their livelihoods.
