A loan helped to buy more nonperishable foods to sell.

Agnes's story

Agnes is a refugee mother of six children who all are going to school. The family lives in Moyo in the West Nile region of Uganda. Agnes is a farmer who grows millet, sorghum, beans and maize. She also sells nonperishable foods within her community.

Agnes’ challenge is that the growing season was bad, and she got very small yields from her harvest. Because of this shortfall and the demand for food by customers in her community being great, she would like to buy more nonperishable foods to sell. With her profits she will be able to pay her children’s school fees.

Agnes hopes to open a shop where she will sell a variety of goods. She is very grateful for the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her.
