A loan helped a member to buy bulls and fodder for livestock.

06_Santhiaba Sud Group's story

This group is made up of two women who share strong links of solidarity and mutual aid. They live in the same neighborhood and took the opportunity to join the Banc Villageois when it was set up in the town in December 2007. Their main activities are fattening animals and small-scale trading.

Ndèye Awa (who is standing on the far right of the photo with her hand raised) is the group's representative. She is 59 years old and married with no children. She fattens animals and has experience in this domain, having done this for several years.

With this new loan she is planning to buy bulls and livestock fodder, so she can raise the bulls for some months and then resell them. She is planning to build up her activities with the profits, as well as to boost her savings and provide for her needs.

In this group: Yacine, Ndèye Awa
