A loan helped a member to buy locally made products.

02_Msylla Group's story

Since its creation in August 2018, this group has comprised mutually supportive women whose main businesses are retailing, rearing livestock and farming.

Khady, the only person in the photo out of respect for Covid-19 social distancing, is the group's representative. She is 36 years old and married with 5 children, of whom 3 are girls. She has been buying and selling locally made products for many years. She buys her stock in a nearby town and resells it in her village. Her customers are mainly women.

She will buy various local products wholesale, including pagnes (traditional African cloth wraps) and incense, which she will then resell retail with a good profit margin.

With the profits, she plans to build up her savings, improve her family's living conditions and help her husband to support the family.

Part of the photo is blurred in order to protect the borrowers' privacy.

In this group: Awa, Seynabou, Binta, Diabou, Khady, Mbombe, Ndèye, Satou, Fana, Oumou, Lobe, Seynabou, Amy, Fana, Mame Fady, Khady, Binta, Awa, Coumba, Diama
