A loan helped a minority woman-owned, custom apparel and accessories business expand and purchase a commercial printer.

Fonda's story

I have been in business since 2018. This business started from a place of depression. I was struggling as a stay-at-home mother, but I wanted more for myself and my family. I love my children and husband, but I wanted to have a purpose outside of them. I was talking to a friend one day, and she told me I should pick up a hobby. I always loved crafting, so I purchased a Cricut machine and fell in love. I soon realized I could make a profit from my craft and decided to turn it into a legitimate business.

In my background, I received a master's degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University and decided I wanted to use my knowledge for myself instead of working for a corporate company. Early on, the company started a partnership with a local nonprofit called Blessed People, which focuses on the needs of our local community here in NC. They help address the needs here as a local nursing home, and have plans to do much more, specifically with low-income families and helping the homeless. They became one of my early best clients.

I love what I do. I want to show my children what hard work and determination look like, and I want to be able to pass this business down to them.
