A loan helped us provide fresh, local fruit from local farmers to adventurous visitors on Oahu.

Vahn's story

I am a refugee, a farmer, a cancer survivor, and a female entrepreneur from Laos seeking to improve my business to benefit my adopted community in Waianae, Oahu. My parents are farmers and instilled in me the importance of one's connection to the land. These experiences on the farm taught me the importance of resiliency and self-sufficiency, which is why I chose to become an entrepreneur.
As a cancer survivor, I put great value on the food I put in my body and want to offer the same care to my customers. As a business owner, I have been in the food and beverage industry for over 20 years. I am seeking this loan to invest it back into my business so that I can overcome the financial impact of the pandemic and the cost of my cancer treatment. Now that I am in remission, I want to reinvest in my business to improve my product and sourcing and to benefit the health and wellbeing of current and future clients.
