A loan helped a minority-owned, first generation immigrant business overcome the losses from COVID-19.

Elna's story

I moved to the United States from the Philippines 8 years ago in the hopes of creating my own American Dream story. Growing up in a developing country, my parents have always taught me to be resourceful and to remember that the earth gives us provision naturally. However, coming to America, I quickly realized the difference between where I came from and where I am now. The things that were not familiar to me were not something I can find easily in America. Especially because we moved into a place where there is not a lot of diversity.

This is what led me to open my business. I opened a place where a lot of International students and immigrants find comfort in a spot that is familiar. A place that serves drinks and snacks mainly found all over Asia but never found in this small town, until now. Bubblee has become a haven for new friends, a place of culture, and unique relationships.
