A loan helped to buy farm inputs which will be used to optimize her crop production.

Evangeline's story

Evangeline, aged 54, is the mother of four. They live in Embu, a remote area located on a gentle plain before the ascent into the central highlands of Kenya. For many years, she has been a mixed crop farmer.

Evangeline is requesting this loan to buy farm inputs, which she will use to optimize her crop production, thus generating more income for her family.

The Covid-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to Kenya's economy, causing many uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva, in partnership, are at the forefront of efforts to combat the effects of this pandemic through supporting small-holder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs through this difficult period.

Evangeline is looking forward to your positive response to her loan request. She thanks her lenders for supporting her at this time when the world is focused on combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
