A loan helped a member to get wood from a forest to make charcoal, which will add to her starting capital.

Mafanyikiyo Group's story

Mme. Amuli is a client with Hekima IMF and presides over the group villageoise "Mafanyikio". She is married, 40 years old, and the mother of three children, all of whom go to school. Her partner is a state functionary.

She sells charcoal. She began this business 11 years ago with start-up funds from her husband. Later, she joined the Hekima program to support her business. Throughout her involvement, her business has grown steadily. With this new loan, she will supply herself with wood from a forest to make charcoal. This will add to her starting capital. The challenge of her business is tied to a lack of transportation during the rainy season.

She would like her children to continue their studies and that she feed her family. Finally, she wishes to thank Hekima and its partners for the support brought to the owners of non-bankable businesses in this context of global crisis tied to COVID-19. The photo is of only the leader of the group due to COVID-19, out of respect for social distancing measures.

In this group: Noela, Amuli, Solange, Emelida, Rosette, Musinza, Christelle, Ida, Jeannette, Julienne, Judith, Abel, Mapendo, Charline, Julienne, Sifa, Nathalie, Gabriela, Nanka, Abeti, Anne Marie, Celestine, Joel, Nzigire
