Every time I wore a beautiful dress with the perfect fit, I was reminded that I was more than enough! As I grew up and met different kinds of people, I realized that there were more people dealing with low self-esteem than the world cares to admit. That’s when my dream to make very beautiful, but sustainable clothing was born. I came to realize that If embracing fashion and style was one of the key factors that really helped me discover my self-worth, embrace my uniqueness with confidence, and take charge of my life and destiny; then I’m sure there are many other individuals out there who can benefit from expression through clothing as well!
My goal of spreading confidence and promoting high self-esteem is the sole reason I want to expand my business and reach more people through retail. Fast forwarding to the present day, I now have 6 years of experience with the development and production of couture clothing garments and want to use my skills to reach my goals and create bigger ones. JaiMadu LLC was born out of a pure passion for fashion. A simple “perfect fit” and complementary colors of a garment can go an insanely long way while hugely inspiring self-confidence. Back in 2015, as a new immigrant to America, I just knew I had to do something to support my husband and 3-month-old baby. Being new to the country with zero work experience, it was difficult to find a job that afforded me an ideal work/life balance. A few months later, I met a woman who desperately needed a dress made for her wedding ceremony. We agreed on a style and price, and with her initial deposit, I rushed off to Walmart to purchase a domestic sewing machine, scissors, measuring tape, and other sewing accessories. That would be the beginning of my fashion business, and my first business, in The United States of America.
In the fall of 2016, my business “JAIMADU LLC” was registered as a small business in Maryland. Since then, I have worked with tons of clients to create many unique custom garments. Recently, I’ve had the great pleasure of being featured by one of Baltimore’s local magazines, “Voyage Baltimore,” which tells the stories of small businesses and entrepreneurs who add charm to the community. I am grateful that my passions are making a difference in local communities and are excited to see JaiMadu grow and touch people beyond my local reach.
I have since attempted to scale up my business by going into “custom quality” ready-to-wear apparel using sustainable materials. We offer some Lending Partners the option to protect themselves against currency fluctuations by choosing to pass on these losses to Kiva lenders. By bearing this risk, lenders protect the partner and its borrowers from catastrophic currency devaluations and contribute to the sustainability of their operations.

"Yes" means the Lending Partner will cover any currency loss. Lenders will not bear losses due to currency fluctuation
