A loan helped to repair her old house.

Seang I's story

Seang I, age 32, lives with her family in the area of Angkor Borei district, Takeo province. She earns a living by working as a seller, operating a small convenience shop offering many types of products, including grocery items, snack foods, sweets, powders, canned food, noodles, and miscellaneous household things, to local people in her community. Seang I and her husband help each other earn household income so that they can provide food, medicines, education, and basic living needs.

Currently her house is lacking and she has requested a loan in the amounting of KHR 8,000,000 to repair her old house. With these funds' support, she can purchase construction supplies such as bricks, cements and zinc and pay for labor costs. The advantage of new roofs is that they help protect when it rains, provide storm protection and clean ceilings that provide comfort for living and are waterproof.

Thanks to the Kiva lenders for their role in the comprehensive development of women like her who want to reduce poverty for their families. Her profits enabled her to increase her savings and take care of her needs and those of her children.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to clean, renewable energy sources, like solar and biogas.
