Trish's story

I grew up in a single-parent home in Washington State. I became interested in tax prep and bookkeeping later in life after I was laid off during the 2008 crash from my management position at a local bar. From there, I started working as a tax preparer for a big box chain. The owner put me on the top ten list of tax preparers out of the fourteen stores he owned my first year in the company.

I was given the opportunity to learn about starting a business while I was unemployed through a state-run program. The idea for my business was born there and I went to a local vocational school to get my bookkeeping certificate. I also studied to take my Enrolled Agent exams and passed them that same year.

I live in a diverse community and would love to hire and support local young adults, with the hopes of one day passing the business on to one of them. Having an office outside of my home would help make this dream a reality.
