A loan helped buy medical items like tubes and beds.

Veronica's story

Veronica is 30 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Kayunga region of Uganda. She is married and has four children with three of them currently in school. For the past ten years, Veronica has been working hard to manage her health provider, which provides medical services.

To help expand her business, Veronica has requested a loan of 6,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy medical items like tubes and beds. The additional supplies will help Veronica generate greater profits and help expand her business and improve her standard of living. Veronica hopes that in the future she will be able to complete her house.

Veronica is a member of BRAC's Microfinance program (MF). The program primarily serves small group members like Veronica, who do not have collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.

This loan is special because:

It provides financial services in some of the poorest parts of Uganda.
