Mrs. Nicolaza V. Muñoz is 33 years old and a single mother to two dependent children. She also takes care of her 61-year-old mother. She lives in the Aguirre area, located 42 kilometers from the city of Cochabamba. Mrs. Nicolaza V. Muñoz is a farmer and produces potatoes, beans, and oats on her 1.2-hectare plot of land. She also has cattle, and is a humble but hard-working person. She needed money to buy agricultural inputs, like organic fertilizer and potato seeds, because she spent the money she had on her mother's gastritis treatments. It is very difficult for Nicolaza to go to banks in the city, since they ask her for many requirements.
She did, however, take the initiative to travel to that area and offer loans. She is very pleased to have received this loan, and she will now buy seeds in order to earn the money back and save money so that she can send her two children to school. Nicolaza is happy to finally be able to buy the fertilizer and seeds she needed.
