A loan helped provide infrastructure and marketing to create positive community-based programming.

Jonathan's story

I have always been an advocate for helping the community. I love the Central Valley. I grew up here and went to college here. When I was 18, while working for State Assemblyman Jim Costa, I realized my call to action for the community. The idea was planted then to have a platform to promote diversity, empowerment and equity in the community. I am not one to sit by when something can be done to make a difference. I know what it is like to have experienced adversity, racial disparity and economic inequities. My father was a former pastor and civil rights advocate. He made it our family's mission, to provide positive spiritual support to our community and to find opportunities to help others. My family has a strong spiritual and civic connection to Fresno. We've operated a transitional home for battered women for many years. Our church has been a spiritual oasis and beacon of hope in the community for over 50 years. Now that my father has passed and the baton has been tossed to me, I feel like it's my responsibility to use my voice and multi-media platform to create and provide programming and content that will continue the legacy to empower and inspire people in a positive way.
