A loan helped a single mum to purchase modern farm inputs and boost her production.

Jane's story

Greetings from Eldoret, Kenya!

This is Jane, a 43-year-old single mother, who is a picture of beauty with a captivating smile. She is the true definition of a hard worker and happy mother.

Jane grows maize, raises poultry, and engages in dairy farming. She produces milk and eggs for commercial purposes as opposed to many rural farmers who produce for subsistence. Jane also grows maize for food and sales. These commercial activities place her in a better position to engage in other agricultural businesses, which she does.

Jane dreams that through farming she will be able to pull away from poverty and see to it that all her children successfully complete their studies. She is a visionary and keen to ensure that she keeps on progressing.

Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, has extended its services to the remote areas in the Eldoret region of Kenya. Their staff are keen to ensure that hard-working women like Jane benefit from loans that enable them to purchase farming inputs.

Jane is seeking a loan to buy farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizer and herbicides. Your loan will enable her to improve her production through the use of quality farm inputs. Through this intervention, she will be able to improve the quality of her farm products and attract more buyers.

Support Jane during this planting season and make her life bright!

This loan is special because:

It finances smallholder farmers to purchase dairy cows, chickens, cereals, farm inputs and farming equipment.
