A loan helped a member to access operating capital to improve her food business.

Nueva Villa Arce Group's story

Like other women in Latin America, Antonia was not able to finish high school due to her economic situation and a lack of opportunities because of her gender. However, this did not stop her from moving forward. She is now a single mother with three children and wants to get ahead through effort and work. Antonia sells food at the fairs that take place in San Julián, a town that is known for its pleasant climate that is typical in the Bolivian valleys.

Antonia and several other individuals wanted to improve their production and their businesses, so they established the Communal Bank named “Nueva Villa Arce”. She was elected the group president. Antonia and the other members approached the offices of Sembrar Sartawi so that they could access the advice and operating capital that they need to improve their businesses and enterprises.
