Ann's story

My name is Ann and I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. After graduating from high school I attended Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, TN, where I earned my Bachelor's and Master’s degrees. I started a career in technical college administration in Nashville, TN and began working on my doctorate degree in May 2017.

For several years I worked at both for-profit and non-profit career colleges, in August of 2018 my husband's job relocated us to Chattanooga, TN. I left my career in Nashville but felt optimistic about being able to secure a job in my field. Unfortunately, that did not happen; during this time I was still working on my doctorate, with the hopes of being able to secure a job in higher education. I was able to complete my research and successfully defend my dissertation in March 2020 and earn my EdD. It was also in this month that I was laid off from my job due to Covid-19.

I went a total year with nothing but rejection email after rejection email. In April of 2021, I started to pursue becoming an entrepreneur and opened the first selfie museum in Chattanooga located in Northgate Mall. Selfie Spot is my passion. I love helping people create memories with their friends and family. "Create memories that can last a lifetime, one selfie at a time"
