Alexandra, 32, lives in a canton called Playas, one of Ecuador’s tourist destinations with a wide variety of seafood. She has a small store that sells Christian items.
She has been a member of an evangelical church for several years and this led her to set up a small business in the front part of her house selling Christian accessories. She stocks CDs, accessories, Bibles and Christian shirts in her store. She works from 7:30am until 6pm Monday through Sunday. In order to have an additional source of income, because she helps her parents economically, she also works in a tuna processing plant, called NIRSA, on rotating shifts.
She will use the loan to buy Bibles, accessories and shirts for her Christian store. In the future she’d like to have an underwear store and to continue helping her parents economically.
