A loan helped minority women-owned business purchase renewed electronics for business.

Flora's story

I birthed my son at 15years old and decided that I must work and strive to make his life much better than my poverty-stricken childhood. I began working at Goodwill Industries in the retail store as a teen. Envisioned one day that my son and I both will have a college education even though the strikes were against us.

Being the first person in my family to graduate from high school, I worked in multiple factories until I was 25 years old. My heart was set on going to college and making a better future for my children. I attended the Indiana University of South Bend and worked two jobs to purchase my first home. Unfortunately, I worked full-time at Bayer Co and attended college. Luckily I had my family's support.

After graduating from college with a BA in Psychology and Mass Communications, I moved to Indianapolis for better job opportunities. After working for the state of Indiana for 6 years, I landed a contract job as an Application Tester. During this time, my son graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a BA in Education.

Being a business owner has been a dream of mine since childhood. My teachers told me I would just be another welfare mother; however, we beat the odds. Kery Enterprise LLC is a family legacy of unity and community. The community made it possible for me to become the person that I am today. My company is determined to make an economic and social impact on the community. By faith, My vision is to make a difference in someone's life just by allowing them to have the technical tools to move forward by not leaving them behind in turn protecting the earth from metal waste in our landfills.
