A loan helped a disabled and woman owned business buy required supplies and equipment.

Jordan's story

I spent most of my life being able-bodied, and have always considered myself to have art skills, but never the time. In 2020 something changed overnight and I developed a bunch of unfamiliar symptoms, and I was all of a sudden disabled. It took a lot of adjusting and forced me to slow down. I had to quit my job I became extremely unhappy.

My business partner who is also disabled asked me to move in so we could help each other. We soon created the idea of Spoonie Creative Collective, a business centered around the chronically ill and disabled. We created this business to not only give ourselves a fair chance at doing something that we not only love, but are able to do, but to also help disabled people by creating a community that they don't currently have.

I am constantly motivated by how influential the business is and how much it means to the disabled community. Even though we are new, we have already been interviewed by the local paper and gaining a following of disabled people who tell us what we are doing means a lot to them.

This loan is special because:

It will help this entrepreneur upgrade equipment and expand their business.
