A loan helped to purchase more rice, oil, eggs, pepper, vita and other items to sell.

Mamie's story

Meet 40-year-old Mamie from Liberia. She is living together with her spouse.

Mamie runs a business which sells rice, oil, eggs, pepper, sugar, vita and other items. She has dealt in this business for the past 10 years now and works 12 hours per day, 6 days a week. For the time being she has had no problem with her business.

Victoria requested this loan from BRAC Liberia to purchase more rice, oil, eggs, pepper, vita and other items to sell and increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living.

In the future, she wants to build a house. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
