A loan helped to plant 0.7 hectares of coffee.

Celedonio's story

Celedonio, 57, is a coffee producer and manages a small patch of land that is 8.4 hectares. On 3.5 hectares of this land he produces coffee under fair trade certification.

With 20 years of experience and the impetus to overcome new adversities in each cycle he is applying for a loan to help buy vegetative material, hire workers and purchase other supplies to plant 0.7 hectares of coffee. The investment will show a return starting in the second year and it will improve his family's income.

During the coffee season he hires 15 temporary workers in his community.

This is his first PAC loan. In the photo with him is his youngest granddaughter.

This loan is special because:

It helps farmers swap unproductive coffee plants with new ones.
