A loan helped to improve the nutrition of his coffee trees.

Carlos's story

Carlos is a small coffee farmer from northern Nicaragua. He has devoted himself to coffee production as his main business activity for over ten years.

He runs his farm under the criteria for fair trade certification. He currently has 2.81 hectares of productive coffee trees due to the purchase of new land and moving there.

For this cycle he has designed a plan of nutritional improvement for his coffee trees. In order to achieve this goal, he is requesting a loan that will allow him to buy supplies like calcium, boron, zinc, and magnesium, among other items. With this he will be able to improve his earnings and his quality of life and that of his family.

During coffee season he provides employment to 15 people in his community. This guarantees earnings for the families of his collaborators.

This is his 16th loan with PAC.

This loan is special because:

It allows farmers to plant trees needed to shade coffee plants.
