A loan helped to buy agricultural inputs.

Saul's story

Saul resides in the community of Esperanza Abajo, which is in the eastern region of the country. He's responsible, hard-working and dedicated to his job every day in the field and to his family. He's a farmer and sows coffee, corn and beans. He has more than 35 years of experience and learned this work from his father who was also a farmer.

Like all responsable farmers, he is requesting a loan to buy agricultural inputs, such as fertilizers, herbicides and urea in order to maintain the high-quality of his product. His clients, who come from all different areas, continue to seek him out for this quality.

He is grateful to Prisma and Kiva for the support. His dream is to witness his children become professionals and good people.

Saul has a hat on in his photo because it was very sunny in that area at that time.

This loan is special because:

It has a below-market interest rate and is repaid at harvest, when farmers can more easily repay.
