A loan helped to buy fabrics and dye products.

Mariama's story

Mariama is 42 years old. She lives with her husband and their four children, all of whom attend school.

Mariama earns a living dyeing fabrics. She buys fabrics and dyes them by hand according to her clients' colour and pattern preferences. Her business is doing well, as these dyed fabrics are very popular for family and cultural ceremonies. Mariama is requesting a Kiva loan to increase her stock of fabrics and dye products.

Her business allows her to pay for her children's school fees and to cover the cost of some household needs. Mariama dreams of opening a large and well-equipped dyeing studio.
