A loan helped to buy a motorcycle.

Luis Alberto's story

Luis Alberto M. C., age 37, is in a common-law marriage. He has five children who he helps and supports in their education. Since he was young he had to support his family with different jobs. He is a fisherman, a farmer, and a “moto taxi” (three wheeled motorized vehicle) driver for the El Sayubu syndicate.

He drives his taxi in Cochabamba’s Trópico area in Puerto Villaroel. He has been an active member of the syndicate for over ten years. The taxi service is profitable because many people use it for its ease, speed, and efficiency. The union has stops and shifts for each member at different points in the town of Ivirgarzama, where people use the taxi service.

This is his first loan with our institution. He will use the loan to buy a new motorcycle. His motorcycle has finished its useful life. With the new one he will be able to provide better service to his customers. This will allow him to improve his income, which will consequentially improve his quality of life.

Luis Alberto M. C. came in person to CIDRE's offices to ask for a loan after his coworkers told him of the institution's good credit conditions.
