Melba is a coffee producer who is 45 years old and a single mother with four children. She has a primary school education and manages her farm with excellent results. Melba has more than 10 years of experience in agriculture. Her farm measures 4.92 hectares, of which 2.11 hectares have productive coffee.
Melba applied for a loan to buy vegetative materials, pay for labor, and cover other expenses. The loan will enable her to establish 1.41 hectares of new coffee plants. This investment will result in returns after two years, which will improve the earnings for herself and her family. During the coffee growing season, she provides 15 seasonal jobs to her community.
This is the first loan she has received from PAC.
