A loan helped to access quality farm inputs and services.

Tabitha's story

Tabitha is a Babban Gona maize farmer living in Kaduna State, Nigeria. She is married with five children. She grows maize to support her family. This is her third loan with Babban Gona, and she has been able to send four of her children to school with the profits from her farm.

She expects to reap up to 40 bags of maize per hectare, which is double the Nigerian national average of 18 bags of maize per hectare. Tabitha will also be trained on the best agronomic practices for her farm to have ideal yields and Babban Gona will provide support to her.

Through this loan, she will get access to high-quality seeds and fertilizers that will make her crop grow to ensure a bountiful harvest and even greater profits. For the season, Tabitha aims to increase her farm's size and hopes to earn enough income to send her other children to school.

She says that sending her children to good schools is her happiest memory as a Babban Gona member. With lenders' help to grow her farming business, Tabitha believes that she can invest back in her farm, provide a better life for her family, and make more memories with them.

This loan is special because:
