A loan helped to purchase more apples and gari to sell.

Patience's story

Meet 26-year-old Patience from Liberia. She is living together with her partner and two children. She is a high-school dropout. Both of her children are currently attending school while living at home.

Patience is a strong businesswoman who sells apples and gari. She has dealt in this business for the past seven years now and works ten hours per day, six days a week. For the time being she has had no problems with her business.

Patience requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more apples and gari to increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living.

She is so proud of her business because it helps provide for her needs. In the future, Patience would like to increase her business and continue sending her children to school. She says "thanks", and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
