I am a Singaporean that calls Portland, Oregon home. Together with fellow Singaporean, Pat Lau, we started a Singaporean supper club here in Oregon in 2019 because we missed our childhood food which is a multi-cultural mix of Chinese, Indian, Malay, and Peranakan. When we moved to PDX, we were inspired by the local produce and wanted to re-create a taste of Singapore, using local seasonal ingredients whenever possible.
Because of covid, we couldn't do in-person dining and had to change our product offering in order to survive. We launched with three signature ready-to-enjoy Sambal chili sauces - Boomz Sambal, OMG! Sambal® and AF Chili Chunka Sambal. Made in small batches using all-natural, local whenever possible, ingredients following a family recipe, Sibeiho Sambals are a versatile way to add bold umami flavor to everyday meals either as a condiment or as an ingredient in many different types of recipes.
In 2022, two of our products won the Good Food Awards, a national competition that recognizes artisanal makers' food products and dedication to contributing back to the community. We love working with our local farms, partners, and food eco-system here to share our cultural heritage. Through our food, we hope we can add to the rich tapestry of immigrant foods available here in America.
