A loan helped to buy more rice, red oil, soap and other items to sell.

Matu's story

Matu is 33 years old and lives in Liberia. She is married and has four children, three of whom are currently living at home while attending school. She never had the opportunity to attend school.

Matu's main source of income is business, mainly selling rice, red oil, soap and other items. She learned the trade from her mother and started selling with some financial help from her husband.

Matu started her enterprise with an objective of increasing her business. She has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia. The loan will be used to buy more rice, red oil, soap and other items to sell.

Matu is hopeful that with increased inventory, her sales will improve, thus bettering her finances to provide for her family. She is grateful for the financial support from the funders that will boost her.

In the future, Matu wants to build a house and continue sending her children to school.

This loan is special because:
