The first woman who stands on the right in the photo is Thin, 28 years old. She is the team leader of Nua Ngam 51 Group consisting of 6 members. The majority of them are Thai minority women.
She got married and became the mother of two kids. Her two sons are in 5th and 1st grade. She lives with her husband and children in a stilt house in the remote village of Dien Bien province, which remains one of the poorest provinces in the country. In addition, she also has to take care of her mother-in-law who has been heavy sick for many years.
Like other villagers, Thin and her husband work as farmers with many agricultural activities such as planting rice, corn and cassava and raising livestock. Agricultural revenue has never been so much, but it's rather enough to cover living expenses. She saw the feasibility of making high profits from cassava cultivation, so she put all her heart and soul into this case because the whole family also has a lot of experience in this field as well as farming skills from agricultural organizations.
In an attempt to increase her income, Thin decided to take a loan from the Anh Chi Em program to buy fertilizer, mainly to focus on cassava. She believes she will be a success in the near future.
