A loan helped us purchase a food truck for the business.

Valerie's story

My husband and I started Tasty Jax after COVID-19 eliminated our positions at our jobs, and we had to figure out a way to survive and create a reliable income for our family. With my Mexican roots, I researched the local market and determined that there was a void in my community in the area of chili enchiladas candies despite the relatively large Hispanic population in Lufkin. Hispanics account for 20% of Lufkin, TX.

My husband and I are first-generation entrepreneurs. We've experienced and observed the troubles of working for other people. We know that now is the time to establish financial and economic stability for ourselves and especially for our children. We also truly enjoy the satisfaction our customers have when they taste our candies for the first time. During difficult times, providing smiles on the faces of the children and their parents helps them to forget about their troubles for a brief moment.

This loan is special because:

It will help this entrepreneur upgrade equipment and expand their business.
