A loan helped to buy more charcoal to sell.

Larwuo's story

Larwuo is 37 years old and lives in Liberia together with her spouse and three children. She attended school up to 8th grade. Two of children are currently attending school while living at home.

Her main source of income is business, mainly selling charcoal. She had been operating this business for six years now and has had no problem with her business. She learned the trade by herself and started selling with some financial help from her spouse.

She has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia. The loan will be used to buy more charcoal to sell. She is hopeful that with increased inventory, her sales will also improve, thus bettering her finances to provide for her family.

Larwuo is grateful for the financial support from the funders that will boost her. In the future she would like to build a house for her children.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
