A loan helped a member to stock up with 10 bales of secondhand clothing.

Linda Vema Group's story

Ms. Charlotte is a client of the microfinance institution Hekima and presides over the village group “LINDA VEMA”; she is a widow, 54 years old, and the mother of six children, of whom two are in school, and four are finished.

She is a vendor of secondhand clothing. She began this enterprise twenty years ago with startup funds from her husband. Later on, she took part in the Hekima program for supporting her enterprise and has since been progressing in it.

With this new loan, she is going to stock with 10 bales of secondhand clothing. And this will bolster her initial capital. The challenge in her business has to do with poor merchandise.

She would like to build a house and for her children to continue in their studies. So, she wishes to say thank you to Hekima and its partners for supporting business owners lacking cash during this global crisis related to COVID-19. The photo shows only the group leader due to COVID-19, so as to respect social distancing measures.
