A loan helped to purchase more slippers and clothes to sell.

Annette's story

Meet 40-year-old Annette from Liberia. She is married with four children. All of her children are currently attending school while living at home. Annette never had the opportunity to attend school, and she runs a business where she sells slippers and clothes. She has been in the business for the past 20 years and has had no problem with her business.

Annette requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more slippers and clothes to sell and increase her business. She says that the extra income from this loan will help improve their standard of living. In the future, she would like to build a store. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
