DROPLETS OF LOVE
For years Hilda has participated in the Communal Bank “Gotitas D. Amor” (Droplets of Love), which consists of nine members. These individuals are part of the “Prosperity” program that is being promoted in the remote area of Huarochiri. The name “Droplets of Love” was the idea of a member who was inspired by a novel.
Hilda is married and has two children. She has a small store where she sells groceries and vegetables. Hilda has managed this business for eight years and started it as a result of her own initiative because she did not want to leave her children alone at home because of their young age. In addition she planned to help her husband with the expenses, look after her children, and improve their quality of life. The income she generates helps to feed her family every day and pay for basic services. Hilda’s goals for the future are to build a house and expand her store by adding a section for selling books.
Meanwhile, with the loan she agreed to receive from EDAPROSPO, Hilda will use the funds as operating capital to acquire more merchandise.
