A loan helped to buy more soap and charcoal to sell.

Mary's story

Mary is 50 years old. She lives with her spouse and their 6 children. 5 of her children are currently attending school while living at home. She never had the opportunity to attend school and she deals in a business where she sells soap and charcoal. She learned the trade from her friend and started selling with some financial help from her spouse. She is requesting this loan to buy more soap and charcoal to sell to make more profits to be able to take care of her needs. She is proud of her business because sales are faster. She says thanks for the support. In the future, she would like to build a shop and educate her children.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
