A loan helped to buy seedlings.

Abul's story

Abul is a 38-year-old refugee, a mother to 5 children who are all school-going. She lives in Moyo in the west Nile region of Uganda.

She is a single mother who is glad to be alive, having survived death while escaping from Sudan. She grows cassava, beans, maize and beans. With the harvest from her garden, she some times sells in order to look after her family.

The season has been so bad that most of her crops dried. She would like to buy seedlings so that she is able to buy tomato seedlings, cabbage, onions and beans.

In the community were she lives, the demand for these products is very high and with the clientele she has she will be able to pay school fees, has a plan of building a permanent house, and will be able to have a better life.

To achieve all this she is very grateful for the support of Visionfund and Kiva.
