A loan helped a minority-owned food truck with a unique vision to serve our community with food and art programs.

Armand And Nina's story

I'm a native Philadelphian, and my partner Nina-Maria, a native New Yorker, is keenly aware of the massive disparity between the financially stable and financially deprived here in Philadelphia. Minorities -- people of color -- make up a majority of these economically depressed communities. As people of color ourselves, we have a deep insight into the inner workings of these communities; we understand the social and economic forces that deplete them of their ability to achieve the same successes as their wealthier counterparts.

We have always had a passion for flavorful food. It is through this passion we believed a food truck would provide us with a means to serve our community with tasty food in a fast, yet effective manner. Additionally, with a passion for filmmaking and, a combined 10+ years of experience in the film industry, we realized that art is an avenue to create real change. With this, we have crafted a way of using food, film, and media arts to unlock the artistic capabilities of Philadelphia's overlooked communities.
