Fidele's story

Fidele is a hard-working father and entrepreneur living in Nyabiheke near one of Rwanda's refugee camps. Fidele owns a hardware shop that provides all needed construction materials to both refugees and the host community.

He started with a small hardware shop. Fidele's business has tremendously grown when he bought a truck and started supplying cement, iron sheet colors, and many others. He is one of the big suppliers in the district of Gatsibo. Fidele is also employed as head of the private sectors in the district which helps him to sell his business.

Fidele's business has employed 4 permanent and 6 casual staff with 50% being women and 50% being refugees. His business provides easy access to products to retail shops in the camp without traveling long distances.

Fidele has also secured contracts to work with schools, churches, and private sectors to offer construction supplies. A loan to Fidele will be used to restock his hardware shop to earn a better income. His hopes and dreams for the future are to own a successful business and continue to have a useful impact on society.
